Ulrich Schichhold

Ulrich Schichhold (1942-2012) war Hobbymaler aus Lautertal bei Bensheim im Odenwald. Er schuf rund 400 Aktgemälde von Frauen.

Ulrich Schichhold wurde am 29. Januar 19421 im sächsischen Waldheim geboren, hat aber später in Hessen gelebt. Er wurde Industriekaufmann und kam durch seinen Onkel in Seeheim Anfang der 1980er Jahre zur Aktmalerei, die für ihn nie Broterwerb, sondern stets Hobby war. Seine erste und zu Lebzeiten einzige Ausstellung hatte er 2011 in der Remise des Alten Amtsgerichts in Zwingenberg.2 Er starb am 3. Mai 2012. Seine Witwe stellte 2014 rund 400 Gemälde aus seinem Nachlass aus. Anlässlich dieser Ausstellung wurden viele seiner Bilder verkauft.3 Eine weitere große Zahl seiner Bilder wurde seit 2018 über das Auktionshaus Walldorf in den Kunstmarkt eingespielt.

Schichhold malte praktisch nur weibliche Aktgemälde in sinnlichen, aber auch obszönen Posen. Vorlagen für seine Gemälde fand er in Zeitschriften. In der Auswahl und Gestaltung seiner Motive orientierte er sich stark an Alberto Vargas. In seiner Kunst scheint Schichhold über Jahrzehnte keine bedeutende Entwicklung durchlaufen zu haben. Eher im Gegenteil: während viele seiner frühen Werke der 1980er Jahre lebendig und dreidimensional wirken, sind seine Bilder aus den 2000er Jahren im Gegensatz zu früher häufig comicartig flach. Werke mit Signaturen aus den 1990er Jahren wurden uns bislang keine bekannt, vielleicht hat er in dieser Zeit nichts gemalt.
